Hey everyone!

I'm so embarassed! I'm from the Seychelles, and i don't even know where it is.

I know it's in the Indian Ocean, it's above the Madagascar, it's East Of Africa.

But is it actually a part of africa?

Everyone always asks me where i'm from and i say 'the Seychelles' and their like 'HUH!' so i'm just like oh i'm from East Africa.

Is it okay for me to say i'm from East Africa? Because I basically am, right? So is Seychelles in East Africa?

Thanks everyone!

Seychelles is off the coast of East Africa, not really part of mainland Africa. It is part of the African Union, yes, but I believe that it is misleading to tell people you are from East Africa because this is technically wrong. You live on an island OFF the coast of East Africa, not IN East Africa. When you tell people you are from the Seychelles and they want you to elaborate, just say you come from a group of islands in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Africa, that's it. That's what I say anyway.....

Seychelles is not in South Africa. Which one do you actually mean - there is quite a distance between the two countries.
